John Galliano - WOMENSWEAR collection Autumn-Winter 2016/17 in Paris (with interview)

Designer: Bill Gaytten Location: Lycée Carnot 17th arrondissement, Paris Mix & match of silhouettes with dresses in lace, silk chiffon, or satin, with thin straps and masculine suit jackets Focus on: a dress in tulle crossed with lame strips + a strapless dress layered in a “mille-feuilles” of ruffles.+ The officer jackets bring a masculine touch along with the long khaki coat.Note: the climbing boxing shoes, laced up the leg, give an urban attitude to this feminine and desirable wardrobeInterviews from Lewis Hamilton,Kelly Rowland & Bill Gaytten Lewis Hamilton:It was very different, it was very stylish, very chic, some of the pieces were very couture and very elegant. I really liked his design, and this is my first time seeing his show so I am really happy. I really liked one of the jackets that was really masculine but looked great on a lady, kind of a captain jacket with the embroidery, it was really nice Kelly Rowland: I was surprised to see the boxer shoes but I was so excited that I did. Of course a girl would get very excited about them because we are always in such high heels and he just makes it so right now and cool and chic so yes I am so happy with the collection, congratulations! Bill Gaytten:The starting point was actually some pictures I saw of First World War officers with very femininely dressed women, so I started to mix men’s tailoring with feminine dresses which is iconic Galliano anyway. The collection was Edwardian, we had the First World War, and we had Goya tailoring. It was all very masculine but again it is a really dressing up sensibility, it was quite aristocratic in a way.Music of the show, (donot reuse for more than 7 days after the show)
